February 1, 2013, 11:13 am

unilever2Unilever NV said on Thursday it will invest $112 million in expanding its capacity in South Africa by building a new factory for home care products and upgrading two existing factories in Johannesburg and Durban.

Unilever is an Anglo–Dutch multinational consumer goods company.

Its products include foods, beverages and cleaning agents.

The investment follows an earlier EUR50 million investment just over a year ago to open another new factory near Durban.

South Africa offers significant opportunities for Unilever to strengthen and grow its business, according to the company.
