Boston police have launched a massive manhunt for suspects involved in a fatal shooting of an officer earlier at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in the suburb of Cambridge.

Police were able to chase the suspects into the Boston suburb of Watertown, where they apprehended a suspect into custody.

The thinly built man was made to disrobe nude to ensure that he was not carrying any form of explosive device before he was driven off by police.

The FBI is reported to have questioned the suspect.

Gunfire and blasts were reported in streets near the MIT as the police are still chasing a second suspect, who is believed to have committed a car-jacking.

A Boston police spokesperson said they had detained a suspect in the MIT shooting who they identified as “suspect 1” related to the video released by the FBI of the Boston bombings, which killed three people and injured over 170 on Monday.

Currently, the police have launched a door-to-door campaign in hopes they can determine whether the MIT shooting suspects had an apartment in the area.

At 5:15 pm EST, the FBI released video and still images of two men suspected in the Boston Marathon bombings.
