Over 400 organisations from 26 countries will take part in an international aerospace exhibition in India.

Aero India 2013, the 9th international aerospace, defence and civil aviation exhibition, will be held on February 6-10 in Bangalore, India.

It is organised by the Indian defence ministry’s military industry and procurement department.

The total area of the 2013 event will be 44,000 square meters.

Russia’s famed Russkiye Vityazi (Russian Knights) aerobatics team is to feature in the event’s demonstration program, Russia’s federal service for military and technical cooperation said on Wednesday.

The service said the Russian exposition at the show that opens today will be organised by the Rostec state corporation.

“The [Russian] exposition will occupy an area of 857 square meters,” the service said.

“Thirty-seven Russian organisations will take part. Eighteen out of them will present information on military products.”

The US is the lead exhibitor with more than 60 firms present at the show – Boeing and Lockheed will display their merchandise.

France will also be putting on an aerial display of its Rafale fighter.

Earlier this week on Monday, The Society of Indian Aerospace Technologies & Industries (SIATI) and UK-based ADS Group signed an agreement of mutual cooperation between companies from both countries, ahead of Aero India 2013.

SIATI, which represents over 300 aerospace companies in the country, signed the agreement with ADS, a premier trade organisation for all companies operating in the UK aerospace, defence, security and space sectors, which together with its regional partners represent over 2,600 companies.
